Texas Judge Blocks Overtime Ruling

The overtime ruling set to go into effect on December 1, which would increase the maximum salary from $23,660 to $47,500 that a worker needs to make to be eligible for overtime pay, has been blocked. Siding with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and 21 states that wanted it stopped, Texas U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant granted a nationwide injunction against the ruling on November 22. We expect there will be much discussion and additional news on this front soon, but we wanted to make sure you were aware of this ruling in the meantime.
