Retirement Plan Services Case Studies

A healthy retirement prescription

Recognizing that a healthcare client’s basic retirement plan was too costly and its benefits were not healthy enough to meet the group’s needs, AGH offered a check up. After assessing their current plan and exploring alternatives, AGH helped the practice switch from a basic profit-sharing plan to a specific 401(k) plan. The bottom line: Not only did the new plan cost less, but the physicians were also able to reap more of the benefits as compared to the former plan.

Striking a balance between retirement and college tuition needs

Recently, a couple turned to AGH for advice while struggling to figure out how they would be able to save enough for retirement and pay college tuition for their three children. AGH helped them set new, attainable goals. First, we figured out what amount of money they needed in order to retire. Reaching that sum became the priority. Then, we figured out what they could pay for college without jeopardizing their retirement goal. The couple started a plan to save the desired retirement money, while at the same time giving them the comfort that their children would be well educated.

All in the family

At AGH, a client’s retirement is not just their goal; it is also a point of pride for us. We are constantly evaluating ways to help clients reach their objectives, and for one of our small business clients, a retirement plan change has made a significant difference. We identified a specific retirement plan for a husband-wife business team that enabled them to earmark $65,000 in one year for retirement—a higher limit than is typically permitted.
